This notice explains what personal information ADHD Pathways collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and the rights you have over your data.

1. Information we collect

Enquiry details — name, contact details, and anything you choose to share when you fill in our contact form or survey.
Client records — if you become a client: emergency contact, GP details where relevant, session notes, agreed actions and reflections.
Website data — basic technical data (device, browser, pages viewed) to keep the site working and secure. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2. Lawful basis

We process personal data under the UK GDPR on the basis of:

Consent — when you send an enquiry, book a session, or take part in our survey.
Contract — to deliver sessions you have booked.
Legal obligation — where safeguarding, tax or professional record-keeping duties apply.
Legitimate interests — to run and improve our service (never in a way that overrides your rights).

3. How your data is stored

Client records are stored in a secure, access-controlled system with row-level security. Only Ryan and named authorised admins can view your records. Handwritten notes are typed up promptly and the paper originals disposed of securely.

4. How long we keep it

Client records are typically retained for 7 years after your last session, in line with common counselling practice. Enquiry-only data (people who contacted us but did not become clients) is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or share your data for marketing. We may share information where we are legally required to (e.g. safeguarding concerns, court orders) or with your explicit consent (e.g. writing to a GP).

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@adhdpathways.org. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. ICO registration

ADHD Pathways registers with the Information Commissioner's Office where required for the personal data we process.
